Aging Problem

As usual, Monday from the second week after Idul Fitri...all I can see the road full of cars and people. Everything back to normal again. Being early or the other way arounf for about 5-10 minutes really does matter when we have to take public transportation.

Anyway, there I was minding my own business, still a bit sleepy but the bus already close to my destination. So, I straight up a bit and try to open my eyes widely. Then I heard the official of TransJakarta talking with the driver. At first, I didn't really pay any attention to their conversation. They were talking about air conditioner.

Official: Hey, it's a bit hot there in the back of this bus. Can you set it up so we feel a bit cooler back there?

Driver : Can't. It won't hold.

I was like, what? Don't tell me the bus engine will break down if the driver set the air conditioner to be cooler than now. I have that kind of experience when the busway already near my destination but I have to wait to be transported to another because the engine has broken down.

Official: What? Do you mean the engine won't hold until we arrive at Harmoni?

Driver: Nooo, the engine will hold. But I won't.

Official: Seriously? What's wrong? Are you sick?

Driver: Nope, I just can't stand the cold temperature. Besides it's still too early! Later I will set it for cooler temperature, okay? Maybe around 10?

Official: Aish, you probably taking too much night shift

Driver: It's not that. You want to know? It's simply about the aging problem!

Hahahahahahhahaha I almost LOL.

Official: Ah, you confessed that you are indeed... old

Driver: Well, I can't help it. You know, when you are 40 something you can still endure the cold temperature. But, when you are 50 something like me then it just freezed you

Well, at least now I know what I am going to feel when I am 50 and the temperature drop below 16 C . Or perhaps the aging driver is a reflection from the aging and broke down busway.
